Donny Warrecker was born and raised in Santa Barbara and has five older brothers. He attended Santa Barbara High and played baseball for the Dons. Donny attended Alan Hancock College where he played for the Bulldogs for two years. He received Student Athlete of the Year in his sophomore year. He transferred to UC Santa Barbara and played for the Gauchos. During his senior season the Gauchos had a record of 40-17 and played in the NCAA Regional hosted by Notre Dame. He received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from UCSB. Donny has had the fortunate opportunity to play and coach for two years in Sweden for the Leksand Lumberjacks. In his second year the team won the Swedish Championship.
He returned home to attend Cal State Channel Islands to earn a teaching credential in Biology and now teaches College Prep and Advanced Placement Biology at "The High". After school he can be found on the field coaching the Dons Varsity Baseball team. Donny loves to surf, draw with color pencils, and loves cooking and barbecuing for family and friends. He also loves philosophical literature (The Alchemist, Siddhartha, Way of the Peaceful Warrior). Donny loves teaching Biology and coaching Dons baseball!
